FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know to care for your glass pieces.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEAN MY GLASS TIPS?
Glass tips should be cleaned after every use. Reusing glass tips multiple times, can be harmful and cause you to inhale unwanted chemical residue. Not only that, but using a glass tip multiple times will also cause an unpleasant taste to your smoke.
That's why it's recommended to have several tips in your collection, especially if you are an everyday smoker, so you can always have clean tips on hand.
HOW TO CLEAN AND MAINTAIN YOUR GLASS PIECES?
There are several methods to cleaning your glass pieces, you can let them soak in rubbing alcohol for a couple of minutes and next pass a pipe cleaner through all your pieces. Lastly, rinse all pieces with running water, pat them dry with a paper towel and they're good to go. Personally, my preferred method for cleaning is using dish detergent and boiling water. In a small plastic container, put some dish detergent over the glass pieces (letting the detergent fall inside the pieces), then carefully pour the boiling water over the glass pieces, just enough to cover them. I always give the container a subtle shake, pass a pipe cleaner through the pieces, and then repeat the water process if needed. Don't forget to always give the pieces a good rinse with cold water, pat dry with paper towel, and you'll be set for your next session.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING GLASS TIPS OVER PAPER TIPS?
Firstly, using a glass tip can help reduce the amount of tar and other harmful chemicals that are inhaled while smoking. When smoking without a filter, some of the burnt plant material and ash can be drawn into the mouth and lungs, potentially causing irritation or damage. Using a glass tip, however, can trap some of these particles and prevent them from being inhaled. This can result in a smoother and less harsh smoking experiences, with less potential for coughing or other respiratory issues.
In addition, using a glass tip can help regulate the flow of smoke, resulting in a more consistent and controlled hit. This can help prevent hotspots or uneven burning, which can waste product and potentially damage the throat or lungs. Glass tips can also help prevent or other debris from being sucked through the pipe or "joint", reducing the risk of inhaling unwanted material.
Also, using a glass tip is more eco-friendly than using than using a paper filters. Glass tips can be reused multiple times, whereas paper filters must be discarded after each use. This reduces waste and can be more cost-effective in the long run.
Finally, using a glass tip can be a more pleasant and enjoyable smoking experience. Glass tips can be customized and personalized, allowing users to express their personal style or preferences. They can also provide a cooler and smoother smoke, enhancing the flavor and aroma of the herb.
ARE GLASS TIPS THE SAME AS USING PAPER FILTERS?
Absolutely not! When smoking weed with a paper tip, the paper can burn and release harmful chemicals, such as carbon monoxide, into the smoke that is inhaled. These chemicals can be harmful to the lungs and overall health, especially if you are a long-term smoker. Glass tips do not burn like paper tips and do not release harmful chemicals into the smoke, which can be beneficial for those concerned about lung health.
In addition, glass tips help to prevent burning of the lips and fingers when smoking. When smoking weed with a paper tip, the filter can become hot and potentially burn the lips and fingers of the user. Glass tips, on the other hand, do not burn and provide a smoother and more comfortable smoking experience.
